Build a useful service history.
Keep the door model, opener manual, installation paperwork and past repair invoices together. Share any change in operation with the technician. Ask for findings in writing so you can distinguish work needed now from items to monitor.
Follow your manufacturer’s care instructions. DASMA recommends monthly safety checks and an annual visit from a trained technician; the specific checks and products should suit your equipment.
What to request in a maintenance visit
- Inspection of visible hardware, seals and wear.
- Evaluation of door movement and balance by the technician.
- Opener and safety-device checks following the manufacturer’s instructions.
- A written explanation of recommended repairs.
Keep children away from moving doors. If movement is erratic or a cable appears loose, stop operating the door and arrange a repair assessment.
